Differences
between coaches, vans, and limousines
We don't use regular full
size vans with bench seating for shared shuttle service, don't
bend over or hit your head, our buses have easy step up and
large, picture-view windows. If you are familiar with regular
full-size vans with bench seating, you probably
know how uncomfortable and awkward it could be
to share a bench with a stranger holding a large
backpack on his/her lap. Same goes for
limousines that are not designed to carry any luggage and are
quite uncomfortable to ride, get in or out.
Another point to
consider is that Alaska DOT does not regulate companies that
operate only vans, which means that even the owner might not
have commercial driver's license. You could be riding in
a rental van for all you know with a driver who
never driven commercially or has no license to
do so and the vehicle does not carry proper
insurance limits for commercial operations. Same goes for
Anchorage or Seward taxi cabs whose insurance does not
cover trips outside of Anchorage or Seward municipality
